The Helpline is a space for scholars at all career stages to submit questions related to qualitative research, including (but not limited to) methods, ethics, teaching, publishing, mentorship, professional development, and more.
Scope of The HelpLine
The DQR HelpLine is designed to provide targeted guidance on specific questions. It is not intended to review or provide feedback on entire dissertations, theses, manuscripts, or full documents. Instead, the HelpLine supports scholars by addressing focused inquiries, such as clarifying methodological decisions, identifying relevant literature, or suggesting ways to respond to reviewer feedback.
For example, appropriate questions may include:
“What supporting resources can be shared with reviewers to address concerns about a particular data collection process? How can qualitative rigor be clearly articulated in response to peer-review critiques?” This focused approach allows the DQR HelpLine to offer timely, constructive, and equitable support to a broad community of researchers.
Questions submitted through this helpline may be:
- Responded to directly by members of the DQR Board, and
- Shared with the broader DQR community in a de-identified manner to promote collective learning and invite additional perspectives or expertise.
Our goal is to foster transparency, mentorship, and shared knowledge across academic ranks, institutions, and methodological traditions.
